General information about TalentTester assessments and reports

What are assessments?

An assessment is a structured way to measure a candidate’s knowledge, skills, and personality traits. At TalentTester, an assessment means more than just a test — it’s a complete tool for development and selection. We map out behaviour, motivation, and potential to help organisations make the right decisions in recruitment, development, or career guidance.

Why are assessments important?

Assessments provide objective and reliable information about a person’s competencies. They help employers make well-founded decisions and give candidates valuable insight into their talents. Within an assessment centre, multiple methods are combined — such as personality, aptitude, and skills tests — to create a complete picture of someone’s professional profile.

How do TalentTester’s assessment tests work?

At TalentTester, all assessments are completed fully online. Candidates receive a secure login link, answer validated questions, and automatically receive a detailed report afterwards. Each assessment is scientifically grounded, user-friendly, and suitable for both recruitment and development purposes.

How reliable are assessments?

The PACS four-colour personality test is a practical and effective tool that helps identify behavioural and communication preferences.

In practice, 87% of participants report strong recognition in their profile.

This leads to greater self-awareness and provides a solid foundation for team development or coaching programmes.

The HEXACO TT and NEO TT personality tests are based on the IPIP model and are evidence-based.

Which different assessments are available?

TalentTester offers a wide range of assessments, including personality tests, aptitude tests, leadership tests, and skills tests. All options are available online and can be tailored to the specific role or organizational context.

What is the difference between TalentTester assessments and other assessments on the market?

In addition, we offer the best value for money on the market, providing professional tests at exceptionally affordable rates.

Are there examples of assessments?

Yes. On our website, you can find sample assessment reports that show how results are presented and interpreted. This gives you a clear idea of the report structure and how scores are explained.

In which languages are the assessment tests available?

All assessment tests are available in Dutch, French, and English. The PACS four-colour personality test is available in 10 languages, including German, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Latvian, Bulgarian, Turkish, and Arabic.

Use and practical functioning of assessments

How long does an assessment take?

The duration of our assessment tests varies depending on the type of test. A personality test typically takes around 15 to 20 minutes, while a cognitive aptitude test takes about 30 minutes. A full assessment, consisting of several components, usually takes between 45 and 90 minutes.

How do you prepare for an assessment?

An assessment requires no specific preparation, but it helps to be well rested and to work in a quiet environment. Read the instructions carefully and make sure you have a stable internet connection.

What do I receive after completing a test or assessment?

After completing the test, you’ll receive a report with clear graphs, interpretations, and a summary of your results. This assessment report explains how your scores compare to the norm group and what they reveal about your behaviour, skills, or potential.

What does the result of an assessment mean?

The result of an assessment provides a clear picture of someone’s talents, competencies, and areas for development. Depending on the type of test, it helps organisations identify the right match or create a targeted development plan. For individuals, it offers insight into personal growth and career direction. At TalentTester, it all comes down to one goal: insights that can be applied directly in practice.

How quickly will I receive a report after completing a test?

The report is automatically generated as soon as the test is completed. When an individual purchases a test directly through the website, the report is automatically sent to their email address. If the assessment was requested by a company, the report is shared through that company.

Can I take the tests online?

Yes, all TalentTester assessments are fully available online. You can take them anytime and anywhere, using a desktop, tablet, or smartphone. The platform requires no software installation.

TalentTester for HR and organisations

How can I use assessments in recruitment?

An assessment is a reliable way to add objective data to your recruitment process. By comparing results with job requirements, you gain deeper insight into candidates’ behaviour, thinking style, and competencies. This helps organisations predict performance and select candidates who truly fit the role and company culture.

Can TalentTester be used in coaching or development programmes?

Certainly. The assessments are ideal for career guidance, coaching, and personal development.

Does TalentTester offer support for talent development in the workplace?

Yes. The tests provide insight into strengths and development areas, which is highly valuable for career development and internal growth.

Can I use TalentTester in recruitment procedures?

Yes, TalentTester’s assessments are designed for professional recruitment processes. Companies can invite candidates through the online platform and receive reports within minutes. The reliable assessment results provide objective input for hiring decisions, ensuring choices are based on measurable competencies rather than intuition. The four-colour test can be used as a conversation tool, while the Big Five and skills tests are suitable for selection purposes as they can predict job performance.

Personality tests

What does the PACS four-colour personality test measure?

The PACS four-colour personality test measures behavioural preferences and communication styles.

The model maps how a person makes decisions, collaborates, and responds to change.

The four colours — red, blue, yellow, and green — represent recognisable behaviour types that provide insight into communication and team dynamics.

The result is a practical report that makes behaviour visible and improves collaboration.

What is the difference between the PACS test and the Big Five personality test?

The PACS four-colour personality test focuses on observable behaviour and communication preferences, while the Big Five personality test measures deeper personality traits.

The PACS test makes behaviour immediately discussable in an organisational context, whereas the Big Five scientifically explains how stable personality traits influence performance and well-being.

PACS is practical and team-oriented, while the Big Five is scientific and analytical.

For whom is the PACS four-colour personality test suitable?

The PACS four-colour test is suitable for anyone who wants to improve collaboration or communication — from employees and managers to entire teams. Because the test translates behaviour into clear and easy-to-understand colours, it can be effectively used in coaching, team development, career guidance, and leadership training.

Is the Big Five personality test scientifically validated?

Yes. The Big Five personality test is globally recognised as the most reliable and scientifically validated personality assessment. The model is based on decades of empirical research across different cultures and languages. The five dimensions – openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and emotional stability – statistically predict work behaviour and performance more accurately than other popular models.

What is the difference between a personality test and a behaviour test?

A personality test, such as the Big Five personality test, examines stable traits that determine how a person thinks, feels, and reacts in different situations. A behaviour test, such as the PACS four-colour personality test, focuses on observable behaviour and communication style in practice.

In short: personality explains why someone does something, while behaviour tests show how someone does it. Together, they provide a complete and practical picture of how a person functions.

Training with the 4-colour PACS personality test

What is a communication training based on the four-colour personality test?

A training based on the four-colour personality test focuses on recognising and using different communication and behaviour styles.

The colours red, blue, yellow, and green make individual differences immediately visible and open for discussion.

During the session, participants engage in role plays and communication exercises tailored to their colour profile.

This way, theory is directly translated into practical behaviour: each team member discovers their own style and that of their colleagues, leading to more respect, more effective collaboration, and a positive team atmosphere.

Does TalentTester organise communication training sessions?

Yes. TalentTester organises interactive communication training sessions based on the PACS four-colour personality test.

These sessions are led by experienced trainers who help teams strengthen their communication, collaboration, and understanding of each other’s behaviour.

The focus is on insight, interaction, and fun.

For which teams or organisations is the four-colour training suitable?

The four-colour training is suitable for any team that wants to improve collaboration, communication, or reconnect.

The method is flexible and adaptable for both small and large organisations.

Companies also use it as part of onboarding programmes or organisational development initiatives.

What is the result of a communication training session for my team?

After the session, teams gain a shared language to describe behaviour and communication. The team colour profile reveals both strengths and growth opportunities. Participants develop a deeper understanding of how colleagues think, make decisions, and respond under pressure. This increases trust, collaboration, and efficiency — with a lasting impact on the workplace.

How long is a communication training session?

The duration varies depending on the programme and team size. On average our communication training lasts five to six hours. Beforehand, participants complete the PACS four-colour personality test, after which the workshop itself is interactive and experience-based.

Where is the training organised?

Training sessions can be organised either on-site at the company or externally at an inspiring location. Many organisations choose to host the session at their own offices to immediately apply the insights gained. On request, TalentTester also organises sessions in conference centres, meeting venues, or outdoor environments that encourage collaboration.

Career orientation test

What is a career test?

A career test helps you discover which job or study path best matches your personality, interests, and talents. The test compares your answers with a list of professions and shows which roles align most closely with your profile. This gives you valuable insight into what energises you and helps you identify the directions most worth exploring further.

Is the career test free?

Yes, there is a free version of the career test. It gives you an initial overview of which professions might suit you. Want a more detailed report with a complete list of matching careers? Then the paid version is the best choice.

What is the difference between the free and the paid career-choice test?

The free test provides a short summary with a few examples of suitable professions. The paid test includes an extensive list of careers with specific job suggestions.

How reliable are the results for my study choice or career?

TalentTester’s career test, based on John L. Holland’s RIASEC model, is well-founded and reliable. The test combines your interests, skills, and personality with up-to-date data on different professions. This gives you realistic answers to questions like:

  • Which study path suits me best?

  • Which job fits me best?

The results help you make more informed and conscious choices, though it remains important to combine them with personal reflection.

Leadership, learning ability, skills and accuracy tests

What do leadership tests measure?

Our leadership test measures the following aspects of leadership:

  1. Preferred style: which style(s) a leader uses most often.
  2. Supporting styles: styles that are easily adopted when needed.
  3. Development styles: less natural styles with growth potential.
  4. Style flexibility: how quickly and smoothly a leader switches between styles.
  5. Style effectiveness: how well the leadership style matches what the team needs.

Who are administrative tests suitable for?

These administrative tests are suitable for anyone in administrative or support roles where Office skills are essential. They help employers assess whether candidates can work efficiently and accurately with Word and Excel.

What does the aptitude test measure?

Who is the aptitude test suitable for?

What does the learning ability test measure?

The learning ability (aptitude) test measures four cognitive domains: Language/verbal reasoning, perceptual speed, number sequences (numerical reasoning), and spatial insight.

The result includes an overall score as well as separate scores per domain, each interpreted within norm groups based on educational level. This provides a clear picture of how quickly and effectively someone can process information, learn new concepts, and apply knowledge in practice.

Who are the learning ability tests suitable for?

The learning ability tests are suitable for anyone who wants to demonstrate their learning potential.

What does the accuracy test measure?

The accuracy test measures how carefully and precisely you work when processing data or numbers. It reflects your concentration, attention to detail, and tolerance for errors. Speed is also taken into account, providing a balanced view of both quality and efficiency in your work.

For whom is the accuracy test suitable?

An accuracy test is suitable for roles where error-free administration, checking, or data entry is essential. Ideal for administrative employees, planners, or quality controllers.
